Today's world economy

It's no easy task to explain the ways of the economy in the world, it has many factors and it's very complicated. But if one would like to generalize, we could say these things: it's globalized, in total it's richer than ever before and the market has never been this big. Although the part where we say that the world is "richer", might not be completely true. You see, even if the total gdp of all countries is higher than we ever could've dreamed of, there has never been this much people on earth. By many it's argued that a high number of people affects the economy in a very positive way, since more workers gives us more work done, especially when considering today's technological revolution. Others claims that there are too many babies born, that the world is overpopulated, and that we never can feed 8 billion people world wide, never ever. But hey, isn't that just a load of bull****? I heard on the radio that the world without any complications whatsoever could feed about 30 billion people in theory, and that was ten years ago! Other scientists said that this wasn't even a positive-made report, but an asbsolute minimum. By other means, at least 30 billion. And in 2006, they weren't as close to the futuristic world we live in today, with gene manipulated food and clothes and with our technological advantages. There are also other factors involved on our better future; imagine that you have a big supply of grain in f.ex. Canada, but no one needs grain because no one are in need of grain right now in Canada, and well, fifty or eighty years ago the producer would've had to get rid of it. But today, he can just tell the Internet about his great deal of grain! Then someone in Poland could buy the grain and win a lot, since there are too little grain and a great demand of it in Poland. Both the canadian and the polish man wins, instead of the scenario where both of them loose. But yes, it's true that we have a lot of issues today too, it's no secret that the world economy is under stress. A sinking oil price doesn't help much, and if our oil resources would just disappear in a close future, god forbid, what will then happen? There is no doubt that it would be a complete catastrophe! Imagine countries like US, Russia and China demanding oil - and there's nothing left? Industry: failed. Jobs: workers kicked. Riots: yes! And if riots is the best way to build our economy, that I don't know. I'm not an optimist nor pessimist, but I can tell that a lot of things have gotten better. Today, about 9.6 % of the world lives in extreme povery, In 1981, this number were 50 %. Yes, look it up.
